Merit Membership Documents (both must be completed and faxed to Merit NL):
Steps to follow:
Membership Categories and FeesMembership fees are set so both large and small companies can take advantage of Merit membership.
Full MembershipFull membership entitles companies and their employees to receive all the programs and services that Merit Contractors Association of Newfoundland and Labrador provides. These include participation in the Merit Hour Bank Benefit Plan, public policy and research, relevant construction sector communications (Merit Matters newsletter, electronic messages, Merit Talk, and the annual Open Mind magazine), the retail member discount plans, training, employee referral service, and the telephone legal advice. Companies pay a monthly fee based on the total number of hours all their employees worked each month. The rate for 2010-2011 is $0.11 per hour worked per field construction employee. This fee is tied to Merit's Hour Bank Benefit Plan and dues are paid with a company's benefit premium payment at the end of each month. Premiums are the same for single and family coverage.
Affiliate ("Non-benefit") Membership Companies who do not wish to participate in the Merit Hour Bank Benefit Plan can still be a member of Merit Contractors Association of Newfoundland and Labrador. They receive some programs and benefits of membership: public policy and research, relevant construction sector communications (Merit Matters newsletter, electronic messages and the annual Open Mind magazine), training for a fee, employee referral service for a fee, and the telephone legal advice service. Annual affiliate membership fee is $250.00 + HST.
